Rumore stores as little about you as it can, and you can have what it does store deleted. The right path depends on who you are.
If you interacted with a business through Facebook or Instagram
Rumore may hold messages you sent a business through Messenger or Instagram, and comments you left on its posts. For a comment we store three things about you as well as what you wrote: your public name, your account identifier on the platform, and a link to your public profile picture (the link, not a copy of the photo). How much of that we hold varies by platform. Facebook usually withholds all three. Instagram sends a username and an account id, but never a picture. Two ways to have any of it deleted:
- By email. Write to privacy@rumore.ai and tell us which business you interacted with, so we can find the right records. This is the route to use.
- Through Facebook. Open Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, find Rumore, and remove it (or use Off-Facebook activity controls). Facebook then sends us a deletion request and gives you a confirmation code. On its own that request does not tell us which records are yours: Facebook identifies you in it by an account id that does not match anything we store. So send the email above as well, with your code if you have one.
Once we can tell which records are yours, deletion completes within 30 days.
If you are a customer of a business that uses Rumore
The business you dealt with controls your data (contact details, appointments, conversations), and Rumore processes it on that business's behalf. Ask the business directly, or email us at privacy@rumore.ai and we will route the request and make sure it is honored. Rumore supports full export and erasure of any contact record.
If you run a business on Rumore
You can disconnect any integration (Google, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, your CRM) from inside Rumore. That destroys our copy of that connection's credentials straight away, and for a Facebook Page or Instagram account it also erases the commenter details listed above from every comment it brought in, permanently, so reconnecting later does not bring them back. Connecting Meta sets up separate connections for posting and for direct messages, so disconnecting the posting side leaves the message side live until you remove it under Connections as well. Google is the same shape for a different reason: the access you granted is held once for your whole account, so disconnecting Business Profile overwrites that connection's copy and leaves the account-level access until you close your Rumore account. Disconnecting leaves the rest of your inbox alone, so it is not a way to clear your data out. To cut our access at the source as well, remove Rumore from your Google or Meta app settings. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email privacy@rumore.ai from your account email.
What deletion covers
Deletion removes personal data from our production systems within 30 days of the request. Copies in encrypted backups age out on the backup rotation shortly after. Content already published on external platforms (a public Google review reply, a Facebook comment) lives on that platform and follows its rules, not ours.
